Tasting Notes
JancisRobinson.com 17.5
Barrel sample. Deep cherry red. Such a contrast with the Grands Échezeaux just tasted. It is ripe but not nearly as savoury on the nose. There’s deep, dark-red fruit, seductive floral notes that trump the oak spice. Likewise on the palate, there some chocolate-like sweetness from the oak but the fruit sings. Extremely fine tannins, supple and shapely, and a long, fresh aftertaste. An embryonic beauty. (JH)
