The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Fontenys wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, peonies, warm spices, orange rind and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it’s sensual and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, resonant finish. This has turned out especially well.
