Tasting Notes

Deepish crimson. Distinctively ripe fruit aroma, more damson and cherry and a hint of oak sweetness. Much more to get your teeth into here than with the Chaignots, richer fruited on the palate. Very ripe flavours just avoiding dried-fruit character – but there is lots of flavour. Tannins are definite but supple, the finish more lively than the fruit character. (JH)

(vinified with about 25% whole clusters): Bright, dark red Aromas of black cherry, currant, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate convey a medicinal reserve Finer-grained and firmer than the Chaignots, showing subtle saline minerality and enticing floral lift to the intense dark berry flavors Still in a very dry style but boasts lovely definition, and there’s more extract here to buffer the firm tannins A more perfumed Vosne style of Nuits than the Chaignots Finishes with firm but sophisticated tannins and lovely rising perfume Very suave wine
