The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru feels sultry on the nose at first: broody, cedar-tinged black fruit, touches of black truffle and smoke. Despite a lack of vigor the aromas keep you engaged. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, clean and pure on the entry but I find the second half just loses concentration and the finish feels monotone and denuded of terroir expression. It starts so well and just loses momentum in the final third. Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting. [Neal Martin, 07/05/2019]
