Tasting Notes
Vinous 85-87
Full bright ruby. Black cherry and flowers on the rather cool, slightly raw nose. In a fruity if somewhat inky style, with flavors of cassis, kirsch and maraschino cherry framed by an edge of acidity. Finishes with substantial building tannins, but the tannins avoid coming off as hard.
Robert Parker 87-88
Space limitations did not allow complete tasting notes for this Cru Bourgeois, but 2005 is the finest vintage for these wines since 1982. The range of scores for these wines should give readers an idea of just how consistent this vintage is at this level. Given the style of the vintage, most of these wines should be accessible young yet evolve for a decade or more because of their concentration and tannic structure.
Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016

Cedary oak/blackcurrant aromas, with peppery herbaceous notes (rocket?). Fresh and fine but finishes a bit flat – sort of blunt tannins. (JH)
