Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 96
A fabulous effort, the opaque purple-colored 2001 Terreus (100% Tempranillo aged in 100% new oak) offers abundant quantities of creme de cassis, blackberry, sweet oak, and smoky notes. Cynics may suggest it is too international, but it possesses plenty of heart and soul as well as admirable structure, magnificent concentration, and ample gravitas. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 15+. It is a potential legend in the making. Vinous 93
Deep, bright ruby. Blackberry, bitter chocolate and a sweet whiff of pastry on the nose. Superconcentrated, sweet and creamy, with penetrating dark berry, violet and bitter chocolate flavors framed and intensified by strong, harmonious acidity. A wonderfully viscous yet high-pitched wine with fruit of steel. Finishes with outstanding length, a suggestion of graphite, and broad, fine tannins that coat the front teeth. A superb 2001. .
